Frequently Asked Questions

Why would I use Bout2?

Bout2 is the easiest way to informally share plans you'd like company for. Think of it like a Facebook invite — but for people who'd never actually create a Facebook event (and the many who aren't on Facebook at all). Post what you're up to, peek at what your friends are planning, and decide what to join. And you can send an activity to people with a single link instead of texting the details to everyone one by one.

Is my information secure? Will you sell my data?

No — we don't sell your data, full stop. You're always in control of who can see each activity through its audience setting (more on that below). We only use your information to make Bout2 work for you and the people you choose to share with.

Who can see my activities (audiences)?

You pick an audience for every activity when you create it:

You choose the audience each time, so you decide how far a plan travels.

What are friend groups?

Friend groups let you bundle friends together — like “Climbing crew” or “Book club” — so you can share an activity with that whole group in one tap, instead of picking people one by one every time.

What are Smart Invites?

Smart Invites send your invitation out in waves instead of all at once. Invite your first choices first; if someone declines or doesn't respond in time, Bout2 automatically reaches out to the next person — so you fill the spots you want without over-inviting.

Why do I need friends?

Friends are what make Bout2 come alive: your friends' activities show up in your feed, and you can share your plans with them in one move. The more friends you add, the more you'll see worth joining — and the easier it is to get a group together.

How do I get my friends on Bout2?

Invite them! Share any activity with a single link — when a friend opens it, they can join and create an account in seconds. You can also share your profile link or QR code from the Friends tab so people can add you directly.

What's the difference between Activities and Events?

Activities are the plans you and your friends create — a ride, a dinner, a game night. Events are public happenings we pull in from around the web (concerts, races, festivals) that you can browse for inspiration and turn into an Activity to do with friends.

What does it mean to sync my calendar?

Syncing adds your Bout2 activities to your phone's calendar (Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, etc.) automatically. Once you subscribe, anything you're going to shows up alongside the rest of your schedule — no manual adding. You can also add a single activity to your calendar from its page.
